Ordinary people performing EXTRAORDINARY WORK

Kiwanis, through guidance and example, works to develop future generations of leaders.

Every day, Kiwanians are revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth-sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds, and performing countless other projects to help children and communities.

2012 Kid Fishing Day

Our next big event for the kids is the 2012 Capital District, Division 21 Kid Fishing Day at the James River Pier at Huntington Beach in Newport News on Tuesday July 24th.  Volunteers are always needed and welcome.

In addition to the event itself, help is always needed to rig all the fishing tackle at Wesley's house on Sunday July 22nd.  You can get his address from the club roster in the members only section.  Even if the only knot you know is the granny variety, your help will be welcome!

2012 Golf Tourney First Place Team

Three of the foursome of Andrew Gregory, Jason Rebbe, Mark Yeager and Mike Bullick display their first place trophies.

More 2012 Golf Tournament photo's are available here.

The six permanent Objectives of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, Colorado. Through the succeeding decades, they have remained unchanged.

  • To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
  • To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
  • To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
  • To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
  • To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
  • To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill
